How to Set Up the Croissant Extension

Install and enable the Croissant extension on Chrome or Safari to build your Collection and see buyback values as you shop.

Written by Croissant Support

The Croissant extension is the easiest way to build your Collection: as you shop supported retailers, eligible items are added to your Collection automatically, and you can see an item's buyback value before you buy.

The extension is available on Chrome (desktop) and Safari (iPhone). Set up whichever you use below — you only need one to start.

Safari (iPhone)

Before you start

  1. Install the Croissant app and sign in — the mobile extension needs a Croissant account, and it's only supported on iPhone (iOS).

  2. Set Safari as your default browser: Settings → Apps → Safari.

Turn on the extension

  1. Open Safari and tap the extensions icon in the address bar.

  2. Tap Manage Extensions, then toggle Croissant on (it should turn green).

  3. When the permissions popup appears, tap Always Allow.

  4. Then tap Always Allow on Every Website.

(page menu) — "The Safari page menu open with Manage Extensions highlighted, above a Croissant entry."

(toggle) — "The Manage Extensions panel with the Croissant toggle switched on (green), above PayPal Honey."

(first popup) — "Safari's permission popup, 'Croissant would like to access croissant.com,' with Always Allow… highlighted (options: Allow for One Day, Always Allow…, Cancel)."

(second popup) — "The follow-up popup, 'Are you sure you want to always allow Croissant?,' with Always Allow on Every Website highlighted."

Chrome (desktop)

  1. Install the Croissant extension from the Chrome Web Store.

  2. Create or sign in to your Croissant account to start shopping with the extension.

  3. On a supported brand's site, look for the "Activate Buybacks" popup and activate it before checkout so all eligible items are added to your Collection.

(Add to Chrome page) — "The Croissant extension page in the Chrome Web Store, with an arrow pointing to the blue Add to Chrome button."

3. (Sign In screen) — "The Croissant sign-in screen with options to Sign In with Google, Sign In with Apple, or Sign In with Email."

4. (Almost there) — "The 'Almost there' screen showing 'Croissant Installed,' prompting you to sign in on the extension to the right to start shopping with Buybacks."

5. (Mytheresa popup) — "The Croissant extension popup on the Mytheresa website noting Mytheresa is trending on Croissant, with an Activate Buybacks button."
