Your Croissant profile is how other members see you in the app and on croissant.com — it highlights your style and activity, and helps others discover items and Collections through you. Some things are visible to anyone who visits your profile; others are only visible to you. You're always in control of what's shared.
What others can see
When your profile is public, other members can see:
Your profile photo and background photo
Your display name and handle (@username)
Your Purchased and Saved items
Your follower and following counts and lists
A Follow or Follow Back button
They can't see personal details like your Collection's value or your account settings.
What only you can see
On your own profile you also have Edit Profile (the pencil icon in the app; Edit profile on croissant.com), your account settings, and your Collection's value.
Your profile tabs
Your profile has two tabs:
Purchased — the items you've added to your Collection.
Saved — items you've hearted to keep track of for later.
What others can see in these tabs depends on your privacy setting (below). More on these tabs: Viewing Your Purchased and Saved Tabs.
How to edit your profile
In the app
From the Community or Home tab, tap your profile icon (top left) ①.
On your profile, tap the pencil icon (top right) ② to open Edit Profile.
Update your Profile Photo, Background Photo, Display Name and Handle (your @username), and switch your profile between public and private with the Public profile toggle ③. Tap Save.
On croissant.com
Choose Your profile under Community in the left menu, then click Edit profile ①.
Change your photo ① or banner, your Name ②, or your Handle ③. Choose Public or Private under Profile ④, then click Save profile ⑤.
A name can be 2 to 16 characters. A handle can be 3 to 18 characters, using letters, numbers and underscores. Changing your handle changes your profile link.
Public vs private profile
Switch between public and private any time — with the Public profile toggle in Edit Profile in the app, or Public / Private under Profile on croissant.com.
Public — what you buy and save, and your activity, show in the feed and on your profile, and others can view your profile and your Purchased and Saved items.
Private — what you buy and save, and your activity, stay hidden from everyone else and won't appear in anyone's feed. Visitors can still open your page and see your photos, name, handle and your follower and following counts — but where your items would be, they'll see "This profile is private." Nothing else is visible unless you share it directly.
Managing connections and sharing
Anyone can follow you, even if your profile is private — they just won't see your items or activity. Choose private if you don't want your items shown.
To stop someone from interacting with your profile or posts, you can block them: tap ⋮ on their profile and choose Block User in the app, or click Block on their profile on croissant.com. You can report a profile the same way (Report Profile in the app, Report on croissant.com).
You can unfollow members (see Following People & Discovering New Collections) or remove items from your Collection at any time.
