Understanding Your Croissant Profile & Privacy

What your profile shows, what others can see, and how to control it with a public or private profile.

Written by Croissant Support

Your Croissant profile is how other users see you in the app — it highlights your style and activity, and helps others discover items and Collections through you. Some things are visible to anyone who visits your profile; others are only visible to you. You're always in control of what's shared.

What others can see

When your profile is public, other users can see:

  • Your profile photo and cover photo

  • Your display name and username

  • Your Collection (the items you've added) and your Saved tab

  • Your follower and following counts and lists

  • A Follow or Follow Back button

They can't see personal details like your Collection's value or your account settings.

What only you can see

On your own profile, you also have access to:

  • Your profile and privacy settings

  • Your Purchased and Saved items

  • Your Following and Followers

Your profile tabs

Your profile has two tabs:

  • Purchased — the items you've added to your Collection.

  • Saved — items you've hearted to keep track of for later.

What others can see in these tabs depends on your privacy setting (below). More on these tabs: [Viewing Your Purchased and Saved Tabs].

How to edit your profile

  1. From the Community or Home tab, tap your profile icon (top left).

  2. On your profile, tap the pencil icon (top right) to open Edit Profile.

  3. From Edit Profile you can update your profile photo, background photo, display name, and handle (your @username) — and switch your profile between public and private.

Public vs private profile

Switch between public and private any time with the Public profile toggle in Edit Profile.

  • Public — your activity may appear in the main Feed and be shared with the community, and others can view your profile and your public Collection.

  • Private — your profile and Collection aren't visible to others, and your activity won't appear in anyone's Feed. Visitors can still see your page, profile photo, background image, and your follower/following lists — but where your Collection would be, they'll see a lock and "This profile is private." Nothing else is visible unless you share it directly.
