Packaging Best Practices

How to package your items so they arrive safely.

Written by Croissant Support

To make sure your items arrive safely, pack every shipment securely. Croissant isn't responsible for items that arrive damaged due to improper packaging.

General Packaging Guidelines

  1. Pack all items securely. Sending bags or shoes without a shoebox? Wrap and protect them well.

  2. Keep any accessories (straps, dust bags, inserts) attached to the item or packed right alongside it.

  3. A good habit: put each item in a protective bag before it goes in the box, in case the outer packaging takes a hit.

Shoes & Accessories

  • Place shoes — especially heels — in the center of the box, cushioned by other items or wrapping.

  • Don't put shoes or sharp accessories against the outside of the package; they can puncture it or get damaged in transit.

  • Always ship shoes and accessories in a box, never a poly mailer.

Reusing a box?

Reinforce every seam and edge with extra tape. Recycled boxes may already be worn — if a box arrives damaged or opened and items are missing or damaged, Croissant isn't liable.

Poly mailers

If you use a poly mailer, don't overfill it — overfilled mailers can tear or open in transit.
