Can I Merge Two Croissant Accounts?

Why Croissant can't merge two accounts or move credit and pieces between them — and how to bring your purchases together on one account instead.

Written by Croissant Support

We can't merge two Croissant accounts, and we can't move credit, pieces or sales from one account to another. But you can bring your purchases together on one account. Here's why, and what to do instead.

Why accounts can't be merged

Each Croissant account belongs to the email address it was created with. That email is how you sign in, and everything on the account is tied to it: your Collection, your credit and credit drops, your sales, your referrals and your Premium membership. Your credit is a running record of what you earned and when it expires, so it can't be split off and added to another account.

We also can't change the email on an account, so there's no way to fold one account into the other.

How people end up with two accounts

  • You signed up with two different emails — for example, once with Gmail and once with a work or Yahoo address.

  • You used Sign in with Apple and chose Hide My Email. Apple gives Croissant a private address instead of your real one, so signing in later with Google or your email creates a second account. Sign in the same way every time.

Not sure which email an account uses? Sign in, open Manage account, and tap Emails. The first one listed is the email you signed up with.

What to do instead

1. Choose one account to keep

Pick the account with your Collection and credit. That's usually the one to keep. If you can't sign in to it, reset your password or sign in the way you signed up (Google or Apple) — see I Forgot My Password.

2. Bring your other purchases over with Gmail

If your other email is a Gmail address, connect it to the account you're keeping. Croissant finds your receipts in that inbox and adds the pieces to your Collection. This works even if that Gmail address has its own Croissant account.

In the app, tap ⋯ at the top right of Home to open the Menu, then tap Manage account. Tap Connect Gmail ①. If you've already connected an inbox, tap Gmail ②, then Connect another inbox ③.

Two Croissant app Manage account screens. On the first, step 1 is Connect Gmail under Your details. On the second, step 2 is Gmail and step 3 is Connect another inbox below a connected inbox.

On croissant.com, choose Your account and find Gmail. See Selling Items You Already Own: Importing Existing Purchases.

If your other email isn't Gmail, it can't be connected this way, and it can't be added under Emails either. You'll see "That email has its own Croissant account." In that case, keep the account that already has your pieces and sign in to that one.

3. Use up what's on the other account

Credit, credit drops and cash stay on the account they were earned on. Before you stop using the other account, spend your credit there — see How to Redeem Your Croissant Credit. If you're a Premium member on both, cancel the one you won't use so you're not billed twice — see Manage or Cancel Croissant Premium.

4. Delete the other account (optional)

Once you've used what's on it, you can delete the account you don't need. Anything left on it is lost, and deleting it doesn't move anything to your other account. See How to Delete Your Croissant Account.

Still stuck? Email [email protected] and tell us both email addresses.
